AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY WE DON’T RESPECT THE POLICE
why use makeup and high heels to strike fear into the hearts of men when just existing as an autonomous person with your own thoughts and feelings is the most terrifying thing any man can imagine
tiny brain: fairy tales i.e. beauty and the beast, snow white, and cinderella are romantic
slightly bigger brain: fairy tales are sexist as fuck #WhatPrincessesTaughtMe
slightly slightly bigger brain: actually fairy tales are empowering for example cinderella is about a woman escaping her abusive home situation and beauty and the beast is about love between social outcasts
large brain: most of these stories are old as shit and reflect the gender roles of the time of their conception but whether or not they are intolerably sexist depends very much on the execution and interpretation of the critical plot points by the adaptation and you can’t paint every adaptation with the same brush
astral brain: fairy tales… but gay
Why is this even a problem? If you need more citizens, take in more immigrants or refugees. It’s not like America has a shortage of either wanting to come in. If you can’t make your own citizens, imported is fine.
How Millenials are killing the baby industry
“If you can’t make your own citizens, imported is fine.”
Yes! Also, like, Plenty of us were’t spanked (or were spanked very very very infrequently) and we are ALSO perfectly fine! It’s almost like you don’t need to hit your kids for any reason.
goodness-gracious-great-balls-of:
That’s what we’re talking about, spanking but not frequently. You just admitted the fault in your argument. No one is saying “yeah lemme sucker punch my kid” or “I’m always gonna spank my kid whenever they do something wrong” they’re talking exactly about what you just wrote and how those people turned out fine…
Let me be more clear, since apparently I need to be.
Spanking is bad.
Spanking never has GOOD outcomes.
Spanking is, at best, ineffective. It is, at worst, actively harmful. It is, research shows us, a spectrum. The more frequent and extreme the spanking, the more harm. However, infrequent spankings are still, at best, ineffective and a poor way to parent a child.
I can count on one hand the number of times my parents spanked me, and I can tell you that it was the absolute LEAST effective thing they could have done to address my behavior.
The whole “I was spanked and I turned out fine!” defense of spanking falls apart because YOU thinking you are fine isnt a measure of how effective spanking is. You being fine doesn’t mean spanking WORKED or was helpful to you. All it means is, at BEST, it managed to not permanently fuck you up.
That’s not what was being said. They’re saying it doesn’t cause the damage you say it does and we can say that first hand and from others experience. I didn’t even say I was spanked you’re making reaches. You literally just said that infrequent spanking does no damage after you make dissertations dismissing anyone who makes the exact same claim. Just because it was ineffective to you doesn’t make it psychologically or physically abusive. And that’s a huge false equivalence to say that at best it didn’t do permanent damage cause at best it actually disciplines kids and tells them don’t go doing shit you know you shouldn’t be doing, no one is saying beat your kids or hit them instead of talking to them like you’re taking all these extremes that no one is agreeing with and uses them as the base of your counter arguments and it’s one huge straw Man. Especially after you defeated your own argument.
So, you’re saying it’s ok to hit kids because it does nothing.
If it does nothing, then why hit your kids?
Spanking is, at best, ineffective. It is, at worst, actively harmful. It is, research shows us, a spectrum. The more frequent and extreme the spanking, the more harm. However, infrequent spankings are still, at best, ineffective and a poor way to parent a child.
Your claim that “ at best it actually disciplines kids and tells them don’t go doing shit you know you shouldn’t be doing “is unsupported by evidence. “Don’t do this or I will hurt you” is not an effective long term parenting strategy, and we know that for a fact.
My argument is simple: Don’t hit your children.
Black smoothie bowl?? 😱😱 made with frozen bananas and activated charcoal!
FYI - charcoal absorbs stuff (toxins) in your stomach, which sounds like a great idea unless of course you happen to be on any meds.
In particular it will fuck your antidepressants and birth control right up.
Ofttimes it’s used to induce vomiting. If you’re super duper lucky, it’ll cause a blockage in your intestines.
It’s used MEDICINALLY to treat poisonings. Not to make something ~aesthetic~
Try food coloring instead y’all.
Reblogging this for the day crowd because I’ve been seeing a LOT of posts about using activated charcoal in recipes and just… like don’t. Pls. Don’t.
IMPORTANT
k so i made a post about this a while ago but i’m still seeing a lot of people reblog posts with links to these sites:
- B*eautiful H*alo
- D*ress L*ily
- T*winkle D*eals
- S*ammy D*ress
THEY ARE SCAMS, and they’re all run by the same person. more often than not they don’t deliver their products, and when they do, they’re usually late, and/or much poorer quality than advertised. some people even complain that there were holes or stains in the clothes. also, their customer service doesn’t refund anyone.
many tumblr blogs will post a suspicious amount of “fashion” or “wishlist” posts which redirect to these addresses. they’re either paid to do so or are run by the company, i’m assuming. (there’s a big issue on tumblr where people are asked to advertise for these companies and have their accounts deactivated as a result. also, many of them weren’t actually compensated)
be careful who you buy from and who you follow. and no matter how strapped you are for cash, agreeing to advertise for these people isn’t a wise choice
since it’s nearing Christmas, I figure now is a good time to bring this back. don’t buy from skeezy sweatshops, if you can help it.
not only are there misleading blog posts which have links to these sites, but a year or two ago i remember getting an inbox message asking for my email address, for a commission opportunity. someone from one of these sites asked me to draw fictional characters in b*eautiful h*alo clothing and link back to the site, for compensation! these people are crafty. be mindful of where you shop!!
I run a blog with a few thousand followers and B*atufiul H*lo has messaged us before to "boost their products in return for discounts/$/free products”. Do not trust them!
i bought from them once and it was nightmare. it took nearly 6 moths to arrive and when my skirts got here they were awful quality
