i cannot even begin to emphasize how romantic signing off letters or postcards with “always yours” is. like… no one ever knows if they would be together forever. we love someone with the knowledge that they might not be in our lives in the future. we know we could fall apart. we still write “always yours”, because we mean to say, “hey, i know you might not be in my life forever, but you will have a part of me still. a part of me will be always yours to keep.” i need a moment
“however, whenever this ends, i want you to know that right now, i love you forever.”
— andrea gibson, “how it ends”
From a beloved, to me. He died a few years ago.
omg i just learned about binturongs today and THEY ARE SUCH GOOD HONORARY DOGS !! THEY HAVE PREHENSILE TAIL!! THEY'RE SO CUTE !!
They are REALLY cute. They’re one of my favorite honorary dogs. And I’ve heard they smell like popcorn, which makes them even better. Truly magnificent beasts
Mmmmmmm the cats investigate
❗️❗️❗️ Idea: One of Julian’s patients gets really attached to him and doesn’t want to leave the long-term pediatric ward after they finally recovers from all the surgeries (maybe they lost parental figures and are kinda floundering around looking for connection) so Garak makes a “special traveling size Doctor Bashir” plush to take with them to make them feel better.
Yes, or like a cute little doctor’s coat or something because the patient already has a doll or stuffed animal or something because they’ve been in the ward for quite some time recovering from injuries from a building collapse, or something.
Though I will say I think there are equal odds that Julian is just like. This child is ours now :))))
And Garak is just like. Well I suppose. Whatever makes you happy, dear. As if he hasn’t been breaking every single rule he’s ever had about the war orphans since he first step foot back on Cardassia at the end of the war with this specific child from the first time he went in search of Julian at the end of a shift and found him asleep in bed curled up with a toddler, children’s book in his hand and went oh no.
But maybe they fight it for a bit and the tot goes to the orphanage for a few weeks before they both realize at the same time during one of Julian’s routine visits/clinics at the children’s home that they cannot leave without this kid coming home with them again.
me (an adult): yeah I’m thinking about running away
My favorite thing about Damar is that he’s just a dude. Garak and Dukat are constantly scheming, speaking in euphemisms all the time, never fully honest with anyone around them or even truly with themselves, and Damar is just like, there. Like he proves this isn’t a Cardassian thing, they’re just Like That.
Dukat, talking about killing someone: I’ll make the necessary arrangements to ensure they’re properly taken care of.
Garak, talking about killing someone: You can rest assured I will do all that is in my power to make sure their stay is as pleasant as possible. But,, once they’re back in their own ship, it’s simply out of my hands.
Damar, talking about killing someone: We should have them killed.
Love how within roughly one season Odo and Garak’s relationship went from “I tortured you into admitting your darkest secret as my only chance at ending my exile” to “heeeey ;) there’s a security emergency ;) in my shop ;) there’s a pretty girl ;) in a pretty dress ;) unattended ;) ;) ;) ;)”
anyway. birds.
Glad to report they did our sulky boi justice 🖤
King of Dreams, King of Nightmares… in any case, i just think he’s neat
