The idea that was sold to us of “love is effortless and you should communicate telepathically with your partner” is false. Love is awkward as hell. It’s A LOT of straight up talking and realization of your self - your own needs. It’s important to make those needs heard. Do not deny yourself full love
that idea robs us of so much intimacy, the intimacy that comes with honesty and vulnerability and being known.
Star trek is so fun to analyze because it’s always like “on a doylist level the writers probably just forgot but for a watsonian explanation we can build a whole system for how this thing they never explained works”
Thinking about how every piece of fiction set after 2020 that doesn’t in some way mention covid has to be set in an alternate universe
I mean it’s possible for a story set in 2022 to not mention masks or anything but… I feel like mentioning any year that starts with 202- is going to give us all a collective moment of pause for a long time
