Okay I wiki’d each of these grocery stores and learned, fun
1st, unsurprisingly, a few of the stores are respectively owned by the same parent companies. E.g. Stop & Shop and Food Lion are both owned by Ahold Delhaize. Safeway is a subsidiary of Albertsons.
2nd, a fun fact! ALDI and Trader Joes are related! ALDI are the US stores of Aldi Süd, and Trader Joe’s are the US stores of Aldi Nord. Aldi’s Süd and Nord used to be the same company, Aldi, which split in 1960
