  27. serendipitouschick-blog said: @wakandansleeperagent honestly this was a long time ago and I don’t remember what I said (I think something along the lines of not letting a fictional story dictate how we think or act?) bc I’m on my phone and I can’t see what you’re replying to but I know you’re right and you make a lot of good points! I definitely see what you mean and I’m glad since my old comment my opinions have evolved and I’m grateful you gave such an insightful reply
  28. wakandansleeperagent said: @serendipitouschick continually fed to us through different mediums. ALSO lots of young underage people read 50 shades, I remember people I went to school with reading it when I was like 13, it’s not a healthy ideal to be selling. BDSM done correctly is A-Okay. 50 shades is a mess
  29. wakandansleeperagent said: @serendipitouschick In regards to 50 Shades, E.L James gives Christian some behaviours that are indicative of an abusive relationship (Controlling, isolation etc.). This book outsold Harry Potter at one point and is billed as a romance which can be dangerous in a society where the abusive actions of men are so readily accepted as the norm. Romanticising potentially abusive situations isn’t healthy. It’s also naive to assume that we don’t internalise lessons from media especially when they are
  30. wakandansleeperagent said: @johnpeter-remember-thepharmacist I made this post a long time ago when I was easily enamoured with men being decent human beings. I am less so now, and no longer regard him as a ‘fave’ but appreciate some of his work regarding rape culture/feminism etc. Sorry about the long ass messages I just thought I’d make this all clear
  31. wakandansleeperagent said: @johnpeter-remember-thepharmacist His Instagram post also revealed the limit to his understanding of race and gender. This all being said, this post is old. Like 2-3 years old and predates the #MeToo movement, his current sexual assault case and activism and maybe even Rachel Dolezal’s exposure (I think it was around the same time). I would like to make it clear, I do not support his comments equating being transgender to transracial.
  32. wakandansleeperagent said: @johnpeter-remember-thepharmacist Hi, I have in fact seen his transphobic instagram (I think it was on instagram) post. I do not identify as transgender so I do not have the right to extend forgiveness or acceptance towards him. I understand and accept wholeheartedly that many people may not wish to support him because of said transgender comments which is also acceptable. His activism while helpful in general to cishet women and men, has been shown to be detrimental to trans people.
