The former is like when a guy keeps flirting and pressuring a woman over and over and is still overbearing bc he assumes EVENTUALLY she’ll be receptive to it. The latter is when someone they have feelings for is not ready fora relationship, or doesn’t return those feelings or there’s an obstacle in their way preventing them to be together, and the man steps back and is willing to give the woman her space and let her come to him in her own time when she’s ready.
